Nelson Mandela’s birthday, July 18th, was designated as an international day to honour his achievements and legacy as South Africa’s founding father of peace. It is more than just a day of celebration; the tradition of performing community service and serving those in need is central to Mandela Day. As a result, we Pioneers marked the occasion by feeding the homeless. It gives me great pleasure to announce that we were able to feed 450 homeless people, including approximately 100 children who lived on the streets with their parents. We began the day by serving the people who live near our office and then took our serving station to Addington Hospital, where we were able to feed everyone situated by the hospital.
One of the few lessons the team learned that day was to be grateful for everything we have.
